One of the greatest most challenging journeys you will ever go on is seeing what your body is capable of. Maybe you are in shape, wholly out of shape, or just expecting to lose some weight. Nonetheless, developing a body you can be proud, one that's healthy, and permits you to really adore every possible last piece of it really is an amazing journey to undertake.

So what's the key to making a lasting change with your body?

Consistency and commitment.

There's nothing else like coming to the table every day and giving it your best shot. Your best effort must be yours and yours alone. Don't start comparing your journey to other journeys or else you will become lackadaisical and deterred. Instead, understand that you are competing against and with yourself and yourself alone. Will there be times on your journey where you try and fail? Yes, many times. But every time you do, you must come back with a commitment to achieving something that you strongly want. Consistency will keep you in the game and on the field every day. Without it, you'll suffer the the unavoidable reality of many new years resolutioners who give up each and every single year on making the body of their dreams because they lack the ability to keep on coming back repeatedly timeand again.

Commitment also comes to mind, though not the commitment you're probably thinking of in this case. In our world, we are fed this idea that everything must take place right now and if it doesn't happen right now, it's not worthwhile. Your body is going to really change throughout all the years, so why don't you make a real lifelong commitment to keeping healthy? Is that a marketable and marketable idea? Not so much. But is it something that would actually change the course of your life? Totally.

When you make a commitment to keeping your body healthy all throughout your entire life, you will at last reach whatever goal you wish. It is about seeing the overall picture than just the few months in front of you until summer. It's honestly about developing something you can be proud of forever. For me, that concept changed my life as I was able to ultimately hit my fitness goals after 12 years of wrestling with my body image and food issues. But as soon as I changed my world view of what I was trying to attain, everything I had wished for came to me. So try it on for size and see if it's working for you. Make a lifelong dedication to staying healthy and watch how much your body will change in the short term too.

Bring some commitment and consistency to the table, in all aspects of your life, and things will change significantly.
