Often times we think that we must put up our own resistance against a front that some other person creates against us. Being a bit confrontational can be thought of as a little attractive. But in reality, there really is only one thing that breaks down walls: being incredibly.
We live in a vicious world. Thank the heavens there are there important acts of courage, fervour, greatness and heroism that run across the streams of hate - but the reality is those acts of hate themselves really begin to create a drain on our minds. Our past stops us from living in the present, turns us into dismal beings on occasion and our built view continues our story until the moment we or someone else comes in and helps us break out of that cycle. This disbelief about life and humanity can be fantastically hard and damn near or close to impossible to deal with. But that is the point.
You aren't supposed to fight with or combat it.
You...are supposed to have a soft touch.
We need more people in this world who are powerful enough to be ridiculously gentle.
To truly love without condition. To give themselves notwithstanding being ungiven to. To give the world their best, day in and day out without any real expectation of return. We need a lot more of those honest people in this world. As I've found through this journey, life isn't about expecting a return. The times I have felt myself unhappiest were the instances when I had expectations for those around me. Shakespeare himself said, "Expectation is the root of all heartache." He sure appeared to have it right. When we expect people to do specific things or act certain ways we are going to sometimes be disheartened. Don't expect. You can only control yourself.
Never let someone else's perspective about life determine your own.
Keep in mind that everyone is going through something or other. It's really easy to be hard on people. But I know that's not why I am here. I have been hard on others ...in the past. But now my opinion is that my only job is to keep to my values and go all through life spreading kindness and light. What other folks do is none of my business. Sure some of it "happens" to me, but that makes it even more urgent to stay true to what I'm doing.
You cannot go through life by steering clear of having experiences and deep relationships with others. You have to put your heart on the line and learn. The only real way I ever got to this realization is by trying continually. Regardless of how badly things go, you have got to keep on going. Allow the negatives to make you more bold.
Don't waste time fretting about things that are not for you. Not many are going to like your brand. If you set a top quality standard for yourself - call yourself Hermes - not everyone in the world will want to buy that. Don't fret about the people that hate on your brand. Continue your journey toward becoming the best person you can probably be and target higher and higher. By the day let your goals get grander. Always be competing with your potential.
Remember - be delicate with those around you. Love your heart out. Strength is truly shown in many ways.
