Going through an invasive procedure can be a bit tough. You need to prepare yourself before that procedure so that you can be in your ideal and stable condition during the operation. You even have to prepare for what would happen after that. After care is a very common concern for those going through an invasive procedures, especially if it is a gastric bypass surgery in Mexico.

If you are getting this procedure, then you need to pay attention to your after care. First, you need to supplement vitamins to your body to ensure that you are receiving the right amount of nutrition your recuperating body needs. You have to keep up with your regimen of multivitamins to ensure that you remain healthy even if your food intake is reduced due to post op protocols.

You need water for recuperation. This is very crucial so you got to make sure to drink as much as you can. By drinking lots of water, you can keep yourself hydrated. Even if it is difficult to drink water because of your reduced stomach size, go for it. If you keep yourself hydrated, you can easily avoid complications.

Avoid those food that has high sugar and fat content. You have to stay away from them because they technically have high calorie content. As a post op procedure, you are not allowed to consume a high number of calories. This is so that you can avoid symptoms that will make you suffer such as vomiting and abdominal cramps.

As you know, water is very crucial for post op. However, take it at the proper time and at a proper amount. If you can, you should avoid drinking water in large amounts in one sitting. Also, avoid doing so before eating and a bit after meal. Try to avoid drinking forty minutes before meals and a bit over twenty minutes after one.

Avoid carbonated or alcoholic drinks. After all, these are drinks that are full of empty calories. They will just upset the new stomach and small intestines that you have. It is not recommended because you will just suffer a lot from it. Ask your doctor to explain thoroughly why carbonated or alcoholic drinks should be avoided.

Light exercises should be helpful for you. You have to do this as soon as you are able to get out and walk. This is so that you can avoid your muscles stiffening up. Do not do rigorous exercise immediately though. Start by taking a walk around the neighborhood. Your exercise regimen can be built up from that.

Be sure to listen to the body. When your body tells you to eat, then you eat. If it tells you that you are already full, then do not overeat. You have to be aware of that so that you do not force your stomach to working too hard just to digest the food you eat. Otherwise, you will just be stressing your stomach.

You can expect some changes after getting the said operation. Of course, these changes are just small ones. It does not necessarily change your whole life. However, it will be good if the said operation can help you think about starting to take good care of your body.
