Why Considering Egg Replacement Meals Is Not In Your Best Interest

By John Myers

There are various reasons for eating food. Sometimes, they are taken because it is the doctor's recommendation to stay alive and/or healthy. Some other times, food is taken because they are sweet and nutritious. As for eggs, they are taken for more than these reasons already highlighted. Thus, it is not good to consider egg replacement meals.

At least, you should not throw away the egg because it is real food. It is not mixed with any other thing and it is even best enjoyed when cooked alone. The best ways for preparing this wholesome diet include frying and boiling. There are no negative effects of taking eggs unlike what happens with some processed foods.

If there is anything natural and faster to cook than an egg, you should strive to get it. Eggs are are the fastest to cook and you can always have it for breakfast or lunch. Even if you want a quick snack at work, it will only take you about 10 minutes or less to prepare. Most processed foods lack as much goodness as there is in a single egg. They are nothing close to the 70 calories of energy, 9 amino acids and six grams of protein that eggs supply to the body.

It is important to avoid vitamin D deficiencies because they do not only lead to conditions such as rickets but the sufferer also suffers from the deficiency of calcium. This is because calcium is best absorbed when the body has vitamin D. To avoid complications that can arise from this, let your child have enough eggs while growing up.

Eggs are also beneficial for good vision. In fact, they are mostly enjoyed by adults in this case because of the presence of Lutein and zeaxanthin which are two powerful antioxidants that prevent age-related poor vision. With this, there is hope for people to grow old without using lenses. It must be noted that although some other foods contain these same antioxidants, the ones present in eggs are more readily utilized by the body.

Eggs also have what is known as choline. As a matter of fact, as much as 125 mg of it can be found in an average-sized egg. Choline helps in body metabolism by aiding transport of materials from one point to another. Some organs will fail without it and a good example is the liver.

By the way, eggs are much cheaper than other foods that have the same goodness as it does. You can get all of its vitality with just a few cents. It is better to train up a child to love eggs for snacks than some foods which are nothing but junk.

Up till now, people are afraid of taking eggs because of the myth that it can give cholesterol in large amounts. This is not true but on the contrary, it is good for the good quality cholesterol it has which is known as HDL. HDL prevents atherosclerosis by taking the bad cholesterol from LDL. Even the United States Department of Agriculture has supported the consumption of eggs. Taking up to three of them every day is quite safe.
