A Look At Catholic Issues

By Della Monroe

The wave of modern Christianity has hit the world hard leaving in its wake changes that are hard to ignore. Many churches are increasingly accepting the changes by taking major steps away from the dark ages. Restrictions on sexual relations are some of the catholic issues that many say only a progressive pope will be capable of changing otherwise, the archaic rules will continue to be used to guide the obedient members.

The Catholic Church has the highest number of faithful in the world according to statistics since its inception over 2,000 years ago. It has established itself as a voice in society that many look to when seeking guidance on important issues. Even governments have in the past resorted to wooing voters through the church.

Aggressive reporting by the media has brought to the fore front sexual practices taking place within the walls of the historic church. Even though homosexuality is legal in many countries today, the church declines to embrace it when the same act is being practiced by holy priests. The reckless deeds by the chosen men of God have become too much to ignore especially when they criticize those who engage in it publicly.

Catholics in the developed world are the ones who have become very vocal in criticizing the doctrines of the global church. They have no problem with the church ordaining female priests to supplement the dwindling numbers of their male counterparts. Females too have attended the bible schools to hone their skills in message delivery hence should be given the opportunity to showcase their ability.

Priests and fathers are people who opine on issues that affect their flocks so that they encourage them in any way possible even when all hope is lost. When the holy house demands of them to abstain, many knowledgeable citizens believe they are not in a potion to talk on such important issues. One can only offer advice on a topic they are well versed with.

Abortion has been disallowed by many governments for years until recently when some thought certain cases called for a woman to terminate the pregnancy. Instances where the mother is in danger of losing her life, abortion becomes mandatory so that she has the chance of surviving and maybe having other children someday. The church has however refused to see the logic in this and continues to campaign against it.

Women have played huge roles in history and serve church just as much as the males do. Consequently, many fail to comprehend the reason for the churches stubbornness when it comes to making them priests or officials in the holy house. Is it that they cannot guide the faithful as well as the men are doing? Other churches have made some of their women leaders in their churches and this is the reason for the decrease in population of Catholics.

The church does not condone sex before marriage and any person who engages in these acts with a loved one is promised vengeance from the good lord. Some believers say that showing emotional affection for someone truly loved should not be seen as a sin especially if done with the consent of concerned parties. Though the church does not accept the act, many of its priests are engaging in it.
